2D Animation & Social Motion


Overview

Down to Earth Regen is a Derby-based Community Interest Company specialising in nature-based regeneration. They transform neglected spaces into vibrant community hubs through education, events, and ecological design.


The Challenge

Following a brand refresh, the studio was tasked with creating a high-energy hero video for the new website. The goal was to showcase a year’s worth of diverse community projects in a single, cohesive narrative that felt both organic and professional. The brand also needed a suite of motion assets to drive engagement across social platforms.


The Solution

Working in close collaboration with the client’s Creative Director, we developed a motion language that bridged the gap between raw community photography and a refined new identity. By using dynamic typography and fluid transitions, we turned a static asset bank into a rhythmic, compelling brand story.


Visual Integration

We utilised the brand’s photography archives, applying 2D animation techniques to add depth and movement to still images, ensuring the "people" behind the projects remained the focus.


Narrative Pacing

Following a script supplied by the client, we choreographed the typography to match the brand’s tone—vibrant, urgent, and community-focused.



Ecosystem Delivery

Beyond the hero film, we developed a suite of animated GIFs and launched a dedicated Giphy account. This ensured the new brand was accessible and usable across Instagram, web documents, and internal presentations.
