FlexSea - Bioplastics

3D Product Render | 3D Animation

FlexSea is dedicated to creating sustainable processes that utilise the full biomass of the seaweed.

FlexSea approached Studio Till to help create a video to explain the technical process of how their products are made. Our animation demonstrates the production of thermoplastic-like bioplastic pellets. These pellets can then be processed using injection moulding or 3D printing to produce a final product.

Challenge

FlexSea needed to showcase their process, without revealing any confidential information and in alignment with the existing brand.

Flexsea also required a range of still product visuals to feature their website as well as employee LinkedIn banners. Flexsea provided us with initial sketches and some 3D assets to use within the animation.

The Process

Storyboard

The client supplied a rough storyboard, explaining how their process works and what visuals they would like to see. From this we began creating styleframes, referencing the current brand and website for inspiration.

Styleframes

We created a set of style frames, each relating back to the FlexSea Brand. Orange and Blue sampled from the Brand Logo and the Gradient world features colours and movement from an existing Brand asset. Once the client had reviewed and given feedback the gradient world was selected.

Storyboard & Animatic

We continued the development of the selected style by creating each scene in more detail. The addition of timeframes helped the client to visualise the flow of the film. Once feedback had been collated from all stakeholders, the animation begun!
