Nature-Based Regeneration — Community CIC
Turning a year of community work into a single, unstoppable brand story.
Down to Earth Regen transforms neglected spaces into thriving community hubs through education, events and ecological design. After a brand refresh, they needed motion that matched their energy — and an asset ecosystem that could carry it everywhere.

the brief
A brand refresh with no motion language yet to go with it.
Down to Earth Regen had just completed a brand refresh — a sharp new identity full of energy and community spirit. What they didn't have was motion. A static asset bank from a year's worth of community projects was sitting unused, and their new website needed a hero video that could carry the new brand with conviction.
The brief was to create a high-energy hero film that pulled that archive together into a single, cohesive narrative — and then develop a suite of social motion assets that could keep the brand alive across Instagram, web documents, and internal presentations long after the launch.
"Chris has been instrumental in elevating our projects with his dynamic and engaging animations. His work consistently adds an extra layer of energy and impact to our communications."

our approach
A motion language built from what was already there.
This project didn't need new imagery — it needed a way to make existing imagery move. Working closely with Down to Earth's Creative Director, we developed a motion system that used their photography archive as raw material, layering 2D animation techniques over real photographs to add depth, energy and narrative rhythm.
01
Motion language development
We developed a visual motion system that bridged raw community photography and the new brand identity — dynamic typography, fluid transitions, and a pace that matched Down to Earth's energy without overwhelming it.
02
Visual integration
By applying 2D animation techniques directly to still photography, we kept the "people" behind the projects at the centre — the motion elevated what was already there, rather than replacing it with generic graphics.
03
Narrative pacing
Following a script supplied by Down to Earth's team, we choreographed the typography to match their brand tone: vibrant, urgent and community-focused. Every cut and transition was deliberate — nothing decorative.
Ecosystem delivery
Beyond the hero film — a full GIF suite built for always-on use.
Beyond the hero film, we developed a suite of animated GIFs and launched a dedicated Giphy account for Down to Earth Regen. This ensured the new brand was accessible and usable across Instagram, web documents, and internal presentations — not just on the day of launch.
Beyond his technical skill, Chris is a fantastic collaborator — reliable in his communication and delivery of creativity.
